Dyslexia Treatment for Adults and Children

Dyslexia is the most common learning disability

Many of our concepts about what dyslexia is and how to treat it are based on a thirty second commercial that aired decades ago where they show the words “saw” and “was” spun around in a tornado effect.

The most common indicator of dyslexia is to have difficulty processing the component sounds of the language

People with dyslexia typically have difficulty holding sounds in sequence in their memory. They may have difficulty putting sounds into written letters, saying individual sounds in words, blending those sounds to read words, listening and remembering what they hear.

Visual and auditory exercises are key to Dyslexia treatment

At Brain Potential Institute, we engage our students with dyslexia in visual and auditory activities to help them distinguish between those letters most commonly reversed, as well to break down and then re-blend sounds incrementally until they become more distinct and automatic. Using our “Toggles” program, we are able to help these students become proficient in processing those sounds that have challenged them in the past.
