Is It Dementia?

As a member of the "Baby Boomers " generation, I hear many of my friends expressing concern that they just aren't "as sharp as they used to be". They are also concerned for what they fear is increasing dementia in their aging parents.

Guess what? We AREN'T as quick witted and can't recall as easily. Our parents are indeed losing ground in the cognitive arena, especially in the area of memory. It is in many, if not most, the natural process of the aging brain.

Ever heard of an overfilled file cabinet or expansive library? Both of these can be compared to our brains as we reach our 60's, 70's, 80's. It's not that we can't take in new information, we just can't pull it back up as effectively.

Is there anything we can do? Yes! Diet, exercise and brain exercises can keep our brains younger and healthier. Drink lots of water; minimize caffeine and sugary foods. Take a walk every day; read a good book; visit with friends; and give us a call to see if we can help. Enjoy your day!
