My child hates school!

The school year is in full stride; the review of the previous year's information has completed and the acquisition of new knowledge and skills has begun. Except for your child...he or she hates school!! Every evening begins the homework wars, those struggles between the parent and child that all of us have faced on occasion. That is normal and even expected.
We are not talking about that normal, expected behavior. We are talking about the student who, regardless of effort, from him and his parent, still fails that blasted test the next day. Hours of study are spent; repetition of lists, taking of notes, reading of texts...all to little or no success.
THIS child hates school and all it represents. It's not bad enough to spend the school day feeling like the teacher is speaking Greek, but now he has to spend the entire evening attempting to learn what he didn't learn in class. NOW is the time to consider a learning disability. It could be CAPD (Central Auditory Processing Disorder), ADD or ADHD, a visual processing disorder, a memory issue. Often it is a combination of these things. Talk to us at Brain Potential, talk to his teachers, ask for assessment of skills and, if warranted, accommodations to his learning tasks.
We are here for you and your child. Our assessment is free and without obligation. Please give us a call.
